Why it's different

Most people have sat in a sauna. Almost nobody in Texas has felt a real one.

Lone Star Sauna Co.

The dry electric box at your gym isn't the tradition. It's a substitute for it. Ours is a 12-foot Driftless barrel sauna, hand-built in the United States by Nomad Sauna in western red cedar, running a Finnish Iki wood-burning stove.

You hear the fire. You smell the cedar. Water hits the rocks and the steam changes the whole room. Then you step outside into ice. That contrast is the entire point, and it's not something you can fake with a wall thermostat.

The Setup

What shows up at your location

One trailer. Everything on it. You pick the spot, we handle the rest, from the first log to the last bucket of ice.

The Sauna

A 12' Driftless barrel sauna in western red cedar, heated by a Finnish Iki wood-burning stove. Ladle water on the rocks and you get true löyly: the soft, enveloping steam a traditional sauna is built around.

Two Cold Plunges

Not one. Two, so your group keeps moving instead of standing in line. Iced down and ready before your first guest arrives, and topped off throughout the session.

A Host Who Knows It

We don't drop a trailer and leave. The sauna is fired, the plunges are managed, And if your group wants to know what's actually happening to their body, and how to do this properly, that's part of it.

Mobile by design

The venue is wherever you want it

A driveway in Southlake. A ranch outside Fort Worth. A hotel lawn, a finish-line chute, a corporate campus, a backyard. The whole experience is trailer-mounted, which means you're not booking a facility and working around its calendar. You're setting the time and place yourself.

That flexibility is why this works for offsites and activations that would otherwise be one more catered room with a projector in it.

The Ritual

Heat. Cold. Rest. Repeat.

A private booking is a four-hour block, and most groups settle into a rhythm within the first round. There's no schedule to keep up with, just a cycle that works.

01

Heat

Roughly fifteen minutes in the sauna. Water on the rocks when the room wants it.

02

Cold

Two to three minutes in the plunge. Long enough. The first one is the hardest.

03

Rest

Sit down. Talk. Let your body come back to level before you go again.

04

Repeat

Two rounds, four rounds, as many as the group has in them. Comfort sets the pace.

In the sauna, everyone's equal. Job titles, politics, whatever someone walked in carrying: none of it survives the first cold plunge. That's the part people remember, and it's the part a boardroom can't manufacture.

Who It's For

Built for private bookings

We take a limited number of dates and work best with smaller, intentional groups, though we've run activations for several hundred people when the event called for it.

01

Executive Offsites & Leadership Retreats

A half-day that people actually talk about afterward, instead of another agenda slide.

02

Brand Activations & Events

A recovery experience guests line up for, and photograph. We've done this for national brands and race weekends alike.

03

Private Gatherings

Birthdays, milestone celebrations, or a group of friends who'd rather do this than dinner.

04

Athlete & Team Recovery

Post-race, post-camp, post-season. Contrast therapy where the athletes already are.

05

Wellness Summits & Conferences

An anchor experience on the floor or just outside it, hosted and staffed.

06

Community Sessions

We open a small number of public dates each year. They fill fast and they aren't the main event.

Selective by choice

We don't book everything.

A limited calendar means the sauna is right, the plunges are cold, and you get the owner on site, not a rotating crew. If the date is open and it's a fit, we'll tell you straight.

Questions

Before you book

Anything not covered here, ask in the form. You'll get a straight answer, not a brochure.

How long is a private booking?
Four hours of use. That's the standard block, and it's long enough for a group to get several full rounds in without anyone feeling rushed. Setup and breakdown happen outside your four hours.
How many people can you handle?
We do our best work with smaller groups: think a leadership team, a run club, or a party of friends. Larger activations are absolutely possible; we've hosted events with several hundred guests cycling through. Tell us your headcount in the form and we'll tell you honestly whether one unit is the right call.
Do we need to supply anything?
You supply the spot. We bring the sauna, the stove, the wood, both cold plunges and the ice. We'll confirm the specifics for your location (surface, access and water) when we scope your date.
Where do you travel?
We're based in Southlake and work throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Events outside the area are considered case by case. Include the address in your inquiry and we'll let you know.
Is this a real wood-fired sauna, or electric?
Wood-fired. A Finnish Iki stove inside a hand-built western red cedar barrel from Nomad Sauna. It's the difference between a hot room and an actual sauna, and it's the single thing guests comment on most.
Do you run public sessions?
Occasionally, and in limited numbers. Lone Star Sauna is a private rental business first. If you'd like to hear about the rare public dates, say so in your inquiry.
What should guests wear and bring?
Swimsuit, towel, and something easy to throw on between rounds. Sandals help. Everything else is on us.
How far ahead should we book?
The calendar is intentionally limited, so earlier is better, especially for weekends and event weeks. Send your date and we'll confirm availability quickly.
